In this first reading of the 5th Sunday of Lent from Ezekiel, we see a prophet who has spent the first part of the book berating the Israelites for all they have done wrong and moving into a hope-filled sharing of God’s truth. He is inviting the Israelites to hope in God and to remember God’s faithfulness. In this reading, we too are reminded that God meets us in the shadows. God meets us in exile to promise us an indwelling of the Spirit.
May we read the words and hear the message and reflect on where God is calling us to open our hearts to invite in the Spirit of God.

Fifth Sunday of Lent
Thus says the Lord GOD:
O my people, I will open your graves
and have you rise from them,
and bring you back to the land of Israel.
Then you shall know that I am the LORD,

I will put my spirit in you that you may live,
and I will settle you upon your land;
